For this work I revisited the woodblock print of the Japanese artist, Hokusai and remade it in pixel art form, on canvas with pastel crayons. This creates a bridge between edo-period, and today's Japan. The horizontal silver lines and the intentionally showing grid reflects on the times passing between the two eras.
